Clonecd question!

I have clonecd version 2.8.5.2 and a
Samsung 12x8x32 cd-r/rw, SW-212B
I have tried to backup numerous games and each time the backup fails usually when it has written about 6% giving the following message:-
writing to CD failed, MEDIUM ERROR : WRITE ERROR - LOSS OF STREAMING ( 3:0x0c:0x09)
I have tried using CDRW diagnostic tool, that keeps saying I have an ASAPI ERROR.
AMD K7 1.2GHz AC 266FSB CPU
K7AMA DDR motherboard
256Mb PC133 DIMM
20GB ATA100 HD
32Mb Geforce 200 AGP card
Win98SE
DirectX 8
All my drivers are up to date and my HD is regularly scanned and defragged.I have used this same version of clonecd on other Pcs with no problems. Is it just the fact that my CD-R/RW is not compatible with clonecd as my model isn't in the list of compatible drives.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! THANX

You could try making sure you ASPII is upto date. I think you can get this from www.goldenhawk.com or adaptec website. Sorry can't be of more help but it is worth a try i think.

Chris.

With CloneCD the ASPI layer is not required. Everything is built into CloneCD. But it really is an old version and you should upgrade.

Are you certain that this PC is properly configured in that the HDD is on the primary IDE channel and the CD-RW is the Master on the secondary channel?

CloneCD's list is a pretty good guide. The chances of a non-listed make working are higher than a non-listed model within a listed make.

I don't know what an ASAPI error is. Did you type that correctly?
