Can't get Max Payne to run

I burned a Max Payne CD from an ISO file. It installs and everything and I applied the 1.05 patch. I then patched it again with the 1.05 no-cd patch. It now plays the intro and loading screen but then spits me out to the desktop afterwards. I tried reinstalling and tried making my own patch with Safedisk and Safedisk Analyser. In the analyser, along with the safedisk version, it also had "1a4b59a4" in the CRC (Calc/Proof) line. I don't know what that means. Anyway, I went ahead and made the patch and applied it but it does the same thing as the one I downloaded. Am I missing something.

I'm using Win2000 with a 16mb Rage 128 Ultra. I realize not the ideal video card but should that be causing it to spit me out at the same point? Any suggestions?
