Need help with backup Metal gear solid!

Me and my brother own Playstation 1 and 2. The problem is that we always is fighting who is going to play the game "Metal Gear solid". Then i found out that we could make a backup of my game, so that i can play it on PS2 and my brother can use it on PS1 who is chiped. The problem is that I only can backup only CD2. I have tryed to use nero 5.5.9.9 , cloneCD 4.01.10 and CDRwin to back up CD1, but no luck. What do i do wrong?????

what settings did you use?

I don't know what setting I can use, because I have never done it before. I tryed to copy direct from the original CD to my burner. It worked well on CD2 but I got error when I tryed to backup CD1. The error said it could not read all files, but it is no scratch in the CD. Is it more I can try?
