Nero 5

Help Please Im going crazy!!!!!
When creating an image file using Nero 5 Ikeep getting a blye screen message
"Disk Write Error"
Unable to write to disk in drive C
Data or Files may be lost
When I press a key to continue the image creation continues this happens about 4 or 5 times I can then burn a CD ok but I causes me problems when I shutdown and restart Windows 98 ie Scan disk runs due to mywindows not being shutdown correctly( but I am shutting down via start/shutdown etc.
Im desprate please can anyone help

If the system scans after a known good reboot, that usually means you are getting bad sectors on the HD. Run something like Norton Scan disk or equivilent, and you'll probably find some bad sectors/clusters on the drive.
