neo 2.2 problems
Im having problems soldering the pins 5 and 6 on a version 3
Iv tried scratching the connections but no good any help please

I'm assuming it's the BIOS chip to which you are soldering.
Take a razor blade and using blue tack to hold it down, put it between the two BIOS pins close up to the adjoining pin. Spray solder flux onto the leg of the BIOS chip and dip the wire end into solder paste. Take the wire to the leg and with your 0.10mm tip 15 watt soldering iron make the joint. Move to the next pin and do the same thing. Work from the razor blade side and no pins will be bridged. If you haven't got the means of doing it this way, you are likely to fail! You asked - you were advised. My advice is at your risk, of course.

Do not scratch the bio's chip, try using charlie's advise and be sure to flux points 5 and 6 or the wire will not stick. Be sure to tin the wires with a Very small amount of solder before you start. If you are not a experienced installer you may want to get some desolder to clean any excess solder just to be safe.

It's the vias from the BIOS chip. My advice to you is to find the BIOS chip and solder to the two adjacent legs. I think the diagrams are on www.chipzone.com or www.consolesource.com
The vias are an integrated part of the circuitry linking two sides of the board and anything in between. Cook those and you've ruined the board. That said, there is a technique for vias .... no I'm not going to describe it becaue I wouldn't want to lead you into disaster.

What is blue tack? I successfully soldered my 2 wires but I never thought of the razor blade (seems like damn good idea though). I will have to try using one those while doing the soldering. But really what is blue tack? Is it a thumbtack or some kind of putty? Wagonburner

its a form of putty they use it at schools to put up drawings or pictures on the walls thanks people
