How do you deal with overburned/oversized CDs?

Hi all,

Can anybody xplain to me how to deal with CDs that are overburned/oversized? I am trying to backup a CD, but when I copy it to another blank CD it runs out of room!

Use 80 min cd-r's. They'll do the job for most oversized cd's.

You can also oversize a regular 74 min cd-r (usually there'll fit around 77 min's on there). Most good burning proggys support this option. It's a little risky though, 'cause you never know how much you can really get on a cd-r.

Some protected cd's also have an illegal TOC (table of contents), for instance Delta Force Land Warrior. Some files on that cd appear to be 2,5 GB big(!). Of course, they don't really have that size. The TOC just states that size (which is actually illegal). There'll never be more than 700 MB of data on a cd.

The easiest way to copy that last kind of protected cd's is to just do a 1:1 copy (clone cd). Although this is a little tough in the case of DF Land Warrior, 'cause it's protected with Safedisc 2.
