I'm wondering if anybody has the historical variants of ProFrager's lolz compressors that they'd be willing to share. It isn't difficult to find versions v22c4b (sometimes referred to as magic2) and v21a7 (sometimes referred to as lollypop2), but the older or inbetween versions were seemingly only passed around in private or lost threads.
From what I've gathered there exists: lolz (2016, bannerless in-proc) lolzi (2017-03) lolzx "lolz test17g" (2017-06) lolly "v19j" (2017-09) lollypop "v20d3" (2017-10) lollypop2 "v21a7" (2018-01) (there exists an a5 and a6 variant, but a7 is the final working variant of this generation) magic/magicl "v22b8o" (2018-07) magic2/magic2l "v22c4b" (2018-12) (exists a 22c4 but the b variant is the final) It isn't difficult to find the decompressors, but I am interested in the compressors as historical artifacts. I understand that these might have been shared in confidence, but some of these are nearly 10 years old and it would be shame for them never to surface. I understand if this goes unanswered, but I felt it was worth asking regardless.

My post with in attachment. (Easter egg: See EXE files error messages! Funny text found.
)See encode.su forum member "xman" listed/posted here many versions. Full lolz19j package here. Note: Decompressors, not stable, trying get other v19j cls-files from many FitGirl repack installers. Likely get them any other versions. Last edited by kj911; Yesterday at 04:04. |

Yes I've been able to collect all the decompressors that I know of, but unfortunately the compressor is the hard part to find. It's worth preserving the decompressors, though doubtfully anybody needs them as they can be found in many repacks. Very interesting error message I'm interested where you found that 2019 lolz because I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere until now. It doesn't come with a version stamp which is interesting as every version between lolzi and it had a version banner. It's dating comes over a year later than the last public release on Krinkels too.FitGirl is the only repacker that I've seen using non public release versions of lolz so perhaps only she has them. Maybe a few others. Might try asking on other forums to see if there user's might have them. Here's some info about the decompressors. Just posting these for posterity. Code:

If my memory serves me correctly, I found this 2019 LOLZ in a FitGirl repack. (from some Battlefield game?)
There are several versions of the v19i/v19j unpackers, since the ones in the package linked above are buggy. (When unpacking, they crash. I already wrote about it here.) Somewhere there is a package that can be run on XP (the x86 EXE, maybe I patched it), the size of the EXEs in it is visibly different from the unpacker files in v19j. From the v22b8o release, I think there is also a 32-bit EXE, there are unpackers for both x86 and x64 for almost all LOLZ versions used by FitGirl. OFF: I wonder where one could find "uharc v0.6c", if it really exists? UPDATE: In the meantime, I checked that besides LOLZ v19j, there are decompressors for the v19i version, which are 2 days older and perfectly unpack the archives created by v19j. The new 2019 LOLZ comes from this set of files. Separately collected a bunch of LOLZ decompressors here, except for the very first file from Dec. 2016. The 2019 LOLZ Files: Anyway, I'm not sure that these files really belong to "LOLZ" despite the name. FitGirl has a habit of using fake filenames for the compressors they use. Maybe it's a unique game-specific archiver for some texture or audio or video files. (It could be a newer BinkPack or h264 compressor, a special audio compressor or something else.) In the case of "v22b8o", was there really no 32-bit binary created? Strange. Last edited by kj911; Today at 13:41. Reason: Added attachment and many infos. |
