As nobody has replied yet I'll try and point you in the right direction (i'm not the expert as I got a wizzo to do the soldering).

Previous posts have all come down to the question of whether you've soldered the right pins; whether or not there is a rogue gob of solder between two tracks or points; whether or not your soldering iron has dislodged an adjoining junction.

You are unlikely to have irrevocably damaged your PS2. But take a maginifying glass to your work and check it all through.

Hi,

Your Ps2 will take a beating it wont go down that easy, but you must have the right equipment to install a mod. Get some decent diagrams, soldering iron and have plenty of time. It can take upto 2 hours to install a NEO2.2 chip on a ver4 board.

Cheers

Sounds like pins 5 and 6 are shorted out. As charlie said get a magnifying glass and check to be sure they are not connected in any way.

Hi Mate,

Im not sure where they go, but i know they are very delicate, and you may find there knackered now, you can get replacements from www.kanection.co.uk

When opening your PS2 you must be so bloody carefull, it seems your having a right nightmare.

Check playstationmods.com they might have some piccys on there you can look at

Goodluck mate, and let us know how you get on
