burn a .raw on cd? big probs, please help!

Hello Group!
I have a psx backup on my hd. Itīs a .raw - file without any cuesheet or something like that. No I want to burn a CD-ROM from this file wich works again in the psx1.
How can I do that? Which program must I use?

I burnt that cd with 4 different programs but its always the same result: I want to view the cd in the explorer and then comes the message: Illegal function, access denied.

Whats the problem? Which settings do I have to set for burn options (sectorsize, mode1 or 2...)

Thanks helping me to stop wasting my cdrīs!

M8,

what did you use to make this file???

if your using CDR-WIn it should of been a .BIN file so that could be one of your problems.

You could make your own cuesheet, but without not knowing what your used to make this file i cant comment any further.

You may just have to start again, if you can get the game back.

Cheers

Dal

This answer isn't guaranteed. Was this a downloaded file and if so where from?

I believe that .RAW is a Unix utility generated disk image that can be renamed to .BIN. So that's your first step.

The next step is to create a .CUE file with the same name. You could do this in Notepad.EXE with appropriate reference to the file path:

FILE "C:\PATH\NAME.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00

Note in the above that the second line is indented to be under the "L" in "FILE" and the third line starts under the "A" in "TRACK".

Then use CDRWin with the correct settings to burn the .BIN file back.

let us know what happens

Hi,
thanks I did it by myself before I read your reply. The only thing I didnīt do was renaming the file from . raw to .bin. But CDRWin burnt that file without problems.
But in the PSX its not working. I see the startuplogo and then another logo which I donīt know, so I think its the startlogo from the game. But then nothing happens any more.

But on the other side, when I try to open the nurnt cd in the explorer the message: "illegal function, access denied" appears.

Where is T.F.Problem?

I think that's the limit of the help I can give. Explorer should see the CD because your burner burnt iT.

Has the RAW file worked anywhere else? I doubt if you know. Downloaded files can be such a pain.
