Bootinig PS2 Backups without Gameshark or AR disks

There is a swap method where you do not need a game shark or Action replay. On modchip.com they have a method were, in between the loading of Unreal you can put a backup in and it will catch and load the backup. Has anyone had any luck with it?

There is another one called the cog swap. You open up your PS2 case, take out that white round thingy with the magnet in it and then put in an original PS2 CD / DVD . Then turn on your PS2 with the case off so you can see the disk spinning and make sure you place that little white cog on to of the CD thats in the PS2. That little white thing holds the CD down.

Next, the PS2 will read the CD and while its doing this you will see Playstation 2 on your screen. Right (I mean right after) after that logo disapears pick up the CD and the cog from the PS2 and put in the backup and place the cog ontop of it. The game should load and it will play. No Patching, Chips, or GameSharks needed.

Note: If you are trying to play a PS2 CD backup, you will need an original PS2 CD. A PSX CD or PS2 DVD will not work. Any PS2 CD should work but so far I have only tested backups with there original games as boot disks.

I use the modchip.com method. Very good. Don't use the cog/knife trick is my advice for obvious reasons.
