someone put me out of my misery please!

ive been trying to patch various games such as soul reaver,tarzan,ape escape etc,but every time they get to the protected stage the cd just coasts,i never have a problem with unprotected games and i know im using the correct patches and settings etc for cdrwin/ppf-o-matic,but it never works.Ive tried clone cd but apparently my writer cannot read sub-channel data does this mean i'm wasting my time trying to patch protected games? if so,so be it and i'll stop wasting my cdrs

Some burners are incapable of burning patched games correctly, maybe yours is one of these.
