What is a patch ?

Ok i might not have read the forum or the actual site, cuz i know you guys have a better explanation. I was looking at psxcopyworld.com and there is like 100 "patches". Now what do these patches do? Like do they automatically rip the game so i can burn it on a CD-R? or are they for something else? if so please explain. And where do i get a utillity disk ?

patches are used to correct copy protection or region code (ntsc or pal). You really should read the forum Its the best way to learn.

Respect is greater for the person who at least tries to read the Forum using the Search button. In fact it is us guys who provide the explanations on the forum, and an answer we give now will be no better than one we have already given. So I'll keep my answers short in the expectation that you'll search the forum, digest what's there, build up your knowledge, try things out, and come back when you're genuinely stuck.

What is a patch? It is code that is patched into a game at a specific location to make the game conform to some purpose - like changing NTSC output to PAL, or defeating copy protection. Clever people work these patches out and give them away!

Do patches automatically rip a game? We can see how your mind works. Get someone else to work it out for you. No, patches have noting to do with ripping. Search the forum under "DVD RIP" and you'll get the methods for ripping DVDs.

Where do you get a utility disk? With a JAP PS2.

Now get on with it.
