What version ps2 do you have? Old versions don't play backups well. What brand media are you using?

do u have a chip in it? on mine i have to put the disc in. put the ps2 in standby and then i hold the reset button for 5 seconds when switching it on. that disables the chip and allows u to play copied/imported movies.

Any ps2 or dvd player should allow the play of dvdr movies without problem or MODCHIPS. Unless they are old model which have problems reading dvdr in the first place.
