RICOH MP7083A DOES SD2 (sort of!)

Hi,
I've been reading through the forums and the informed consensus seems to be that getting around SD2 is a hardware problem. With the above writer I have backed up Delta Force 3 using CloneCD to give me a disc that seems to be a 1:1 copy. Until you try to install it that is. Then it gets 4% into the install stops dead and comes up with 'error trying to move data' or something similar.
I've also tried BlindRead/Write but just get burned discs which show no data. CloneCD seems to be the only one that 'works' for me.
My question is am I doing something wrong perhaps on reading/writing or is this imperfect disc just a sign that my hardware doesn't cut it with SD2?
Anybody out there have success with SD2 and this writer?, Its annoying to be so close to getting a 1:1 copy.

Cheers
Scoro
