Memory Card Woes
I have two memory card related issues:
1. Has anyone had saves suddenly delete from their memorycards? One day I wanted to play soul calibur and found that there was no SC data on the memcard, everythign else was there though. Same thing happened to Dead Or Alive 2 LE and a few others (Thank GOD I have a double power), these are ALL official sega VMUs. Info Anyone? 2. I dont really have any way to connect my DC to the net unless I hunt down and buy a broadband adapter, and I dont have 100+ to spend on something like that. Anyway, most of the memory card downloads are in .VMI format and all I have is a double power, which uses the .DCI format. Is there ANY way(not just using the double power) to get .VMI saves into my dc other then using the net?

First, I have a question for you.
Why do you have to have a BBA to connect with your DC? What is the reason you can't connect with 56K? Second, here is a possible solution... I have found some websites that have VMU saves available in different formats. I don't remember the names of all the websites, but you can search for them. Some sites have Game saves available in *.dci and other formats. You could download those and stick them in your memory card with your PC to VMU cable. I believe gameshark.com has those saves available. You can also search through some of the links on this page: http://www.hkems.com/m_main.htm Just search around for game saves. Other than using your PC to download and transfer to a memory card, you'd have to get your DC online. Hope this helps. Later, Ex |

Huh? When did I say I had a BBA? I dont.
Anyways, yes I know some sites have them in both formats, but most of the saves I want are from www.booyaka.com, which only has gamesaves in .vmi/.vmu format.

Hi,
Re-read what I asked... I didn't say you had a BBA. I was asking why you said you had to have one to connect the the internet with your DC. What is the reason you can't connect with 56k? Your quote: "2. I dont really have any way to connect my DC to the net unless I hunt down and buy a broadband adapter, and I dont have 100+ to spend on something like that." Later, -Ex |

Because I have cable internet. If I used the 56k modem I would have to sign up for a dialup ISP on top of my Cable ISP.

Ok, then I've got the solution for you.....
Get a free ISP. There are tons of them. Most are only good for a limited time, but that will certainly serve your purpose. I've used them before, and haven't had a problem. I currently use a service called "Highstream.net". It's only $8.99 a month and has great service and customer support. Anyway, to find some free ISP's go to Sega.com and go to "community" / "message boards" / "sega" / "ISP's". Look at that message board. There is always someone posting a list of current free ISP's with login name's and passwords. I just checked it, and there's a buch of threads listing them. You can look other places too, but this is the best I know of. Take care, -Ex |
