Ok I could use some ####ing help with the BBA

I have already submited a question on it but for some reason no one ####ing sees it. I have the broad band adapter, the software a how to guide which is as helpful as pants without a zipper. I need to know how do I transfer them over. I know some geek out there knows how.

I am lothed to answer you plea firstly 'cause it is my view that if you want someone to help you, then you should try to ask politely - it isn't you god given right to have everyone jump to attention whenever you stamp you feed and through a tantrum. Secondly, 'cause by providing an answer it would seem that I am labeling myself a geek in your eyes. But anayway, against my better judgement, here you go.

firtsly, you need to connect the BBA to you PC network card using a cross over cat-5 cable (that is one that the pin links cross over - pin 1 - pin 6, pin 3 to pin 5 etc (or something like that) rather than a straight connection.

If you go to Xena's page and the download section, you can download an image for the IP-load disk that is preset to an IP address of 192.168.0.100. Burn that disk, stick it in your DC and switch on. After afew seconds, th light on the back you your network card should come on indicating that the PC is detecting the DC on the network (I assume that you know how to set up the IP address for the PC).

If you know run BBA program, go to options, set the ip address as 192.168.0.100 (which the IP-load disk has set on your DC) and the wossitts number that you can get from the screen display on your DC when the IP-load disk is booted. Once that is done, click connect.

Once connected, swap the DC disk to the game to rip, and click on track list to see the filers on the GD-rom. Select the ones you want and click download then start. It is that easy. If you ##### out the tutorial section on Xena's site (go.to/selfboot) you will find all this information available and for the most part set out much mroe clearly than I have done here. The only thing that wasn;t clear to me when I was getting going was that you need a cross-over rather than straight link cat-5 cable.

Anyway, hope this helps, and maybe next time you will ask rather than demand help. Even after typing all this, I am still loathed to click the post button 'cause I don;t want you to think that posti8ngs of this kind are the way to go to get help, but if you are reading this, then I must have relented.

I have a question too.

You say you need a cross over Cat5 cable. What does the bba come with? Also if I have a router and am setting up the DC in a LAN do I need to use Crossover Cat5?

When using 10-BASE-T networks, the crossover cable is just a way to connect two computers together without using a HUB or ROUTER. If you've got a HUB already, just use a regular network cable to connect the DC to your HUB.

First of all, I have plenty of pants without zippers and they work fine, so eatme.

Secondly, you can eatme.

Lastly, if you are refering to "geeks" in a derogatory way, you can eatme. If you are refering geeks in a positive way, you can uhm... eatme.
