Tera Term, or serial cable problems

Please help. i tried backing up my house of the dead 2 and the 1st_read.bin was 0K with no hexdata in it. I tried again the next week and when i transfer the file (it stops for five seconds and continues.{This goes on repeatedly.})How do i fix this. i need help on the second problem HELP

It is Ok when it is stops for few seconds and then go again But you 1st_read.bin can't be empty
All I can tell you don't touch PC during downloading not even a mouse.
