burning knockout kings 2002

ok heres my info

i am using a plextor 16/10/40ta burner, win98 se, 256 mb ram, p3 500 processor

i had made a copy of this game before i purchased and installed my neo 4, when i put that copy in it goes to the screen where it shows the memory card and the disc

so i figured that it needed an ea patch, so i used a generic patch for ea games and reburned it using cdrwin(i have the trial version so it was done at 1 speed)the same thing happened when i put it in my ps2, it went to the mem card and disc screen, it says its a playstation disc but it wont load

can someone tell me whats going on here?
