Can't play backup with Jap PS2

I downloaded Batman Vengeance and burned it on an 80 min. CDR successfully. Then I applied the Universal PS2 patch so I can do the swap trick on my Jap PS2 (model 10000). But it doesn't seem to work, how come?

I've noticed that if the game has been ripped from a DVD to a CD, it doesn't seem to run even with the Universal patch.

Help anybody?

The PS2 Utility Disk has a TOC (Table of Contents) that restricts the game coming in behind it (your backup) to I think it's 621 MB (the size of a game on a standard CD PS2 Game). This swap method won't allow DVD rips greater than the Utility Disk TOC size.

As for downloaded games, if the size is not the problem, you're in the hands of whoever made the dowmload.

I moved to the Origachip to get round this problem on my SCPH 15000 and I boot now with DVD Region x. Noe I don't have a ripped disk > 650MB with which to play!
