GTA vice city 'locking up' all the time

does anyone else have the problem with gta vice city where after you save a game it stalls after its finished saving when your about to continue playing.. this has happened to me several times ... even after 'ctrl + alt + del' and ending the game there.. restarting the game and trying to load the saved game it stalls and i cant continue no matter what.. yet i can start a new game and its fine but im sure at some stage its going to lock up again anyway...... any suggestions...

Are you using a crack? maybe could be a faulty one. The gimprus one at megagames.com works pretty fine for me

Wrong section for a start off.

This has nothing to do with Game Backups. Try the Software Help section :P

But a mod will move this to the right place.


As for it locking up, try an up to date patch and drivers.

FYI: I still have this installed and using a crack for v1.1 and NO lockups at all when saving/loading or playing for 1 hour or more, or when mowing peds down in cars, or when crashing helicopters into cop cars, or having mass fights with the FBI/ARMY, or perpetrating gross acts of gratuitous violence on 'fictional computer people', or just causing general mass mayhem and murder and destruction in the game.

Boy, is that one FUN game to play

I have to say as BarryB. I use V1.1 cracked patch and I never experienced any kind of problems with the game.

I had similar problem recently but it gone after installing patch

i use a fixed exe for this game too

with the 1.1 patch

infact with the crack it seems to run better then without it

It's a known fact copy protections can slow games down due the way they have to perform protection check functions while the game is running!

even if i already know it lol

especially starforce its a fucker of a protection.

i think securom is the best protection.

safedisc seems to be much like starforce only starforce has drivers and a fancy protection menu.
