FreeSpace 2 v1.20 [ALL] No-CD Patch Question...

Where do I put the MVE files (cutscenes) in order to see them while playing the game? It's not working with them in the Data folder, but see no folders listed as Movies or somesuch. Might just add it and see if that works...

Thanks all!

Is there no full install in the game? If not, try a subdirectory of the same name as the one on the CD/DVD (that needs to be inserted, while playing, so that the movies can be access from it).

The full install doesn't include the movies and they are on the main directory of CD 2 and CD 3. But, won't work in the main directory on the HDD...

Also try modifying the registry or INI file entries where the path for the movie files supposedly is. (Now pointing to the CD/DVD-ROM drive; change it to point to a subdirectory in the game's installation directory - better use ".\whatever" so that it works from any installation directory.)

Just shooting blindly...

I don't see a INI file anywhere in the game's folder and the registry only shows two Movie options ("Interlaced Movies" & "Movie Fast Clear") which I recall were check boxes on the video options within the game, though none that can be changed to ".\whatever". The only options I see that can be changed are numerical, 0 and so on...

There's one called "SkipVerify" however.

You copy the .mve files directly into the game folder, not into other folders etc, but into the main game folder.

It's funny you say that, because everyone is telling me different folders to put them into and none of them have worked as far as I am aware. That said, the way I see if it is working, is look to see if the intro plays once I start the game, which it hasn't yet. All in all though, I am assuming the intro is suppose to play before the game starts, if it doesn't, well, there's the reason...

Anyone have the game and know where it plays?

EDIT: BTW, it's working now. It took using another No-CD patch though. Let me know if you all would like a link to it, since it's not hosted on GCW the best I can tell...

Do not hesitate to Upload a new working nocd/crack to Gamecopyworld!!
http://ul.gamecopyworld.com/ and follow the instructions. Also better to
FILL a short note about the files (on upper right corner) especially if you
get better/different files(s) from GCW's

It's just the FS2.exe and have no idea which version it is or who made it, but it works on my 1.20 version, at least...
