Rainbow Six - Vegas

My VideoCard Supports only Pixel Shader 2.0
is there a way to run RB6 - Vegas without Pixel Shader 3.0?

(Wrong forum, moved.)

Contact the publisher with your problem. (And, next time, read the system requirements before buying anything!)

Why dont you slow down big man. Quit puffing out your chest on the internet.

This guy, like myself, probably didnt read the box because this is one of only 2 games I know of that we cant run. Both are by Ubisoft. Literally everything else, we can play. Im a grad student and I dont have endless amounts of money to throw into my PC, a-hole. Lastly Im not buying a new vid card until some time after Vista and some DX10 games beside crysis are out. Crysis doesnt interest me in the least.

So in the end, Ubisoft lost my business. For that matter, they lost or never had the business of the majority of gamers I know as they dont have cards that support 3.0 either. Jokes on them really. I returned mine and got a much cheaper game that I would have overlooked had this not happened. Best part is, RB6:Vegas is still on my hard drive, I have a new game that I can play, plus a $25 gift card to boot!

to the mod of this joke of a forum. feel free to ban me, I just came here to spew in here anyhow. I belong to a much better forum that isnt full of a-holes like joe forester and tippex. happy trails clowns!

@horrible forum: What you wrote has already been said by other forum members during the last month, thank you very much. Yes, I failed to understand that the original poster did not yet buy the game and was only curious. I still say, though, that such questions should primarily be sent to the publisher, the official user support or the official support forum as it is their damn duty to answer them.

As for your insults: Do you know the people, who you told to be assholes, well enough to talk about them like that? Have you read through our other few thousand posts or are your assumptions based on these few? Think about that for a moment!

if he bought the game, the requirements are on the box
if he didnt then its a warezed copy, so he'll at best get banned

either way.. 'lightening up' is not required, joe was spot on...

would you buy a petrol car and then put diesel in it...
point made i think...

Nope, hud1973 meant that the original poster might only be planning to buy this game (and might not buy it - or get a pirated copy, for that matter - if it's not supported by his current video card).

@Thc
Unfortunately if your card doesnt support Pixel Shader 3 then you wont be playing this game.
There is no work around fix for it.

You will need to buy a new card.

I am in exactly the same boat as you!
Not that I am interested in this game but it does bother me that Ubisoft plan to go this way for all their future games.

In 2 years, you'll have a better video card. By then, this game will cost 5 dollars/euros in all game shops and the last patch will remove the copy protection, too. HAHAHA!

Maybe fire, explosion and smoke effects require Agiea physics card (since Unreal 3 engine uses Agiea and those effects are now so realistic they will cause severe fps drop when running in software mode)? Or maybe the game detects your card as the member of GeForce 6 family and turns off those eyecandy things... GeForce 7 series have many optimizations, e.g. Oblivion runs fine (with the grass turned on) on 7300GT but "chops" on 6600GT, no matter these cards are pretty much the same (speaking of speed)...

Why don't you use the latest 93.71 drivers?

edit: Pardon, now I see he said "FROM 7x.xx", not "TO 7x.xx"
