I don't know why, but when I try to load the game, and press save and play or wtv it is, the game doesnt load and t just gives me the screen to file an error report. The game doesn't wanna load!?!??! I tried installing it with the 5 cds together on a dvd, and i tried with the 5 cd's like it was when i bought it, also if it helps, btw i used the official patch then the crack since my kids lose their cds, so maybe that is the problem, I don't know... Has anyone else encountered this??

Does the game run when installed from the original CD with no crack? Does it also run when patched using the original CD?

The game does work, and that is how I am using it now, but I prefer doing a few things, a) using just one dvd (if i make it on one dvd and i edit the msi in orca, it still gives me the incorrect cd inserted) and b) using a crack so my kids won't damage or lose the cd. I'm fine now using the cd but i have two boys and they both cannot use the cd at the same time.... and i don't have a cd or dvd burner, so I cannot copy the game...

You must have used ORCA wrong if it's asking for the CD!!
When I edit an .msi I just blank out the Volume Labels and save the .msi file so the Game/DVD never needs a volume label to install. |

Re
***UPDATE***
Alright, I took your advice by just leaving the labels blank, but when I load the game, I get that same message: Wrong disc inserted. Please insert the original "THAW" Disc. Why is this?? I am not using the crack, so could that be the reason? **2nd Update*** When I use the crack, with or without the edited msi (i don't think it makes a difference) the game looks like its about to load and my hopes go way upp, but then it gives me the message to file an error report? Why?? I have a feeling it's the crack, so what I am looking for is a way to play off the cd with no need for a crack. When I make the cd to a cd image, which i think should work the same way as a cd, gives me that insert orignial cd.... Any help is appreciated Last edited by borax; 22-03-2006 at 17:27. |

@borax
I presume you are following this CD2DVD guide? If so, follow the guide to step 7. Also include another folder for the v1.01 update and the v1.01 NoCD Crack which is available at GCW. Then instead of creating the ISO just copy the contents of your Temp folder straight to a DVD-RW, using the same label that you used when you edited it in Orca. (yes you can leave it blank if you wish.) Use nero to burn the DVD as a Data Disc. The DVD 'Should' install with no problems! But it will not play from that DVD! To play you will need to update using the v1.01 update then swap the exe's with the cracked v1.01 exe. Now the game 'Should' play. If the DVD-RW works then you can burn it to a DVD-R. If the game still crashes to the Desktop, or gives you the 'Send Error Report' message, then update your display drivers. That 'could' be the cause? We havent recieved any complaints about the NoCD crack not working so I am presuming the crack is ok. Good Luck. P.S: I dont have the game but these suggestions are general answers to problems like yours. The CD2DVD conversion should go smoothly!
