i can't seem to get it right with the ps2's....
so i went to adjust my voltage and after i did, i think i might have killed my laser. now, it does that 1/4 slow turn bs. i tried setting the voltage back to where it was, but it is still messed up. i made sure everything is hooked up properly, but nothing is working to get this p.o.s. to move!!
so as usual, i am here begging for help!

my ps2 is an scph 3000-1

Laser replacement and adjustment is very tricky and almost impossible to do correctly without a multimeter. It should be done by someone with experience as well.

You may not want to hear this but the smartest thing for you to do is box it up and send it to a pro. If you purchase a new laser and just install it without checking the pots with a MM you can fry the new laser on power up or you may get lucky and it run for a week or two then burn out. Then you will be spent your money and be right back at square one.

Where are you located? there may be someone local that can adjust or replace your laser at a affordable price.

damn.. a while later and i got it working again... kind of.

it spins now, but i still get d.r.e.'s i will have to tweak the voltage i suppose. to make matters worse, though, i screwed up the clamp to my controller port ribbon so now, only the second controller works--so even if i get a game to load, i probably can't play it.
