Quick Question about Gameshark..

I have a very old Playstation 1, like one of the first ones released, and I have one of those physical gameshark devices that plugs into the back of it. I was just wondering if there was any way to play copied games using this.

If not, I've ordered an Infinity Modchip for my PS2....does this work just as well?

Also, are there any tutorials that newbies to PS2 modding should read concerning backing up, patching, burning, etc?
