currently i use this method:
1. AVI2VCD Decompress
2. TMPEGEnc >>> MVCD

But there is a new tool named DIVX2DVD. Can't remember where to find...

I use WinAVI Video Converter v7.1.

I had been having a hard time converting DivX to DVD for a while until someone told me about this program. If anyone is going to use this prog, be sure to make sure it is v7.1 or better as the earlier versions didn't work too well. Also when you have made your DVD files rename the main folder so another job doesn't overwrite your files as it merges the 2 films together and causes a right mess. When you have finished it check it thourouly and write it to a DVD with Nero's DVD writing software (within Nero 6.xxx burning roms DVD burning options) - 1 of the only decent things Nero does (in my opinion)
