nrg.001
I've win98 se and Nero has created and image splitted in two files.First of 4g with nrg extension and second almost 4g with nrg.001
Because I would like to reduce dvd image erasing some files and burn on 4g dvd, I'm trying to open image with known utilities but many ones open only first file and when I extract files that are recorded on second file (nrg.001) they send me an error. Magiciso for example open nero image but only first 4g and not appends second file. How I can solve this problem?By which utilities? Thanks |

I think the second file is like a work file, when nero is making an image which it finally makes the full image from, but it must have been kept behind instead of being deleted by accident.

I think NERO has splited your DVD-Image at 4GB. Try to find an option to let NERO don't split the image.

Problem is I'd like to modify nero image but none utility in my own is able to open perfectly two splitted files.Only .nrg image is opened but when I try to extract last files (recorded on nrg.001 but whose name is on main file) utilities go on error. Does exist an utility that recognize splitted nero files and after loading two files nrg and nrg.001 let us to operate on all its files?
Thanks |

Win98 does not support files larger than 2gigs because of FAT32 harddisk format. That's why Nero splits this file into sizes that match the file size limit of FAT32. If you want to edit the files copy them to harddisk (not as image - only files into a folder) and reburn it using the original cd name.
There is no need for an image because no data like cd protections is copied with nero. Your second option is using a winxp computer with NTFS support.
