Forcing to burn at 2X or 1X
I have a CyberDrive CW038D CD-RW Drive and I have no problems with it. I also have an IDE to USB converter which works great and has great speed (IF I put it on a 2.0 USB slot anyway)
Anyway here's my dilemma, I want to burn using my laptop with the IDE to USB converter, tried it on a USB2.0 slot on my desktop machine, works perfect , however my laptop only has USB 1.0, and when I try to burn seems to end in coaster, probably because of the lack to data transfer. The CyberDrive CD038D only supports burning at 4x, 8x,12x and 16x write speed for CD-R and 4x,8x,12x for CD-RW disc. It seems to have no support for 1X or 2X burning speed, which I presume would solve the problem of coaster when burning. Is there any kind of modification or CD-Burning program that would allow me to burn on either 1X or 2X? |

Well, it has no PCMCIA slot either..... This laptop can be considered those DeskNote computers, you know, those budget laptops that are huge in size, and it's point is easy relocation, nor portability.....
