problems getting into Advanced GTA SA Video config

ok, so i got the game, and i got it to work (though i havent found the save games folder, and i havent been able to play cuz it runs too slow, i suposse its because of my old comp) but when playing, its like hey.............. 3 hours later............. yo CJ! come here!.................. 5 hours later........... got on the bike, and so on and so on and so on
i made my graphics card work with best performance, not quality, and it helped me a lot, still, it gets hard to play at 15 or 20 fps, dunno how much i have
okok, i have an old comp ok, but b4 laughing and insulting, please, try to help me, please, pentium iii 866mhz, 384mb ram, 1.5+ gb free disk space, nvidia geforce 2 mx 32mb, windows xp professional with service pack 1
when i try to enter the advanced commands of the video config, i get the THE THE =)!("$=!"$ windows error that says the application needs to be closed because it made an error. DANG IT i said, tried a few more times, with diff resolutions and nothing, and i really want to decrease the resolution, delete shadows and take off that cool-but-slowing-and-huge-motion-bloor-effect
please, i got a new hoodlum crack and some fixes around there (in gamecopyworld, and im sorry if i cannot name the site or something like that, i didnt know) but still nothing

any ideas???
thx for your time bros

To be honest with you, you need new hardware. Doesnt matter how low your settings it will still run like a snail.

@ topic: Buy new cpu, mainboard(cause i dont think ur board supports 2gh+ cpus), more Memory(1gig is so great to windows, much more performance) and minimum a GEFORCE 5000+ or Radeon 9500+ or much higher.

But another question, therei s a advanced grafic menu for gta? Another than this "advanced settings" in the game menu?

The Game slows down on my pc too, but i got more than enough power i think(2,8gh, gf6800ultra, 1gig dual channel ram, etc.)?
After a couple of time(2-4hours), the game begins to slow down, it stops when i drive, the music stops, if this were a online game, i would say i have lag *lol*

But why is it so? No temperature problem, cpu and graphiccard is absolutely "cool", i can run 3d Mark 2005 after i finished gta cause i cant play with this stupid slow downs, 3d Mark Tests run with full power. No slowdown, no problems and if u know that benchmark, u will see that the gta graphics are a joke agaisnt the benchmark, but still gta starts to slow down ...

Drivers are also up to date ...

Unhappy

meh, i was afraid someone would say that im short of money
well, anyway, theres only one advanced graphics menu in san andreas, thats the one you and i say and thats the one i cannot enter to
i was trying to get a geforce 4, it wouldnt be bad to have one, and then, if its possible, get a new comp, this one may still be around so the geforce 4 would come in handy anyway
maybe in 5 years i can afford a 2.8 ghz comp hahahahha
thx for the help, better go back to vice city with some cool weirdo mod , if anyone knows a great total conversion (with new missions if possible) just let me know, no matter how big it is (200mb+)

Even an MSI KM4M-V with a AMD Sempron would be cheap for you. You could use your Hard Drive still, but you will have to get memory, just now 512mb Crucial (good brand) is around £40ish in the UK dont know about argentina. But it may be a good idea for you.

If you pump up the settings as high as they can go, sometimes this helps with performance. Some people have commented that lower settings lag a game while forcing higher settings improves it.

Or you could try disabling Anti-Aliasing (you will lose the smoothness to the gfx) but it may help speed up a bit.
