What would you do with this laser?
Alrighty, I know I've asked a lot of laser questions I'm hoping someone has some advice with this one.
I romeo'd a v10 but I have a feeling it was just a second too late. It plays DVD's and DVD games just fine. But PS1 games hang or pause for like 20 seconds randomly. I measured the coils and Coil 1 comes up at around 3.8 and Coil 2 is right around 3.9. It's odd as the DVD's work fine but the CD's don't. I'm trying some pot adjustments now just to see if that helps any. Would you toss this laser? Or would you try and salvage it? |

The coil values do seem low (might just be your meter) but if its playing DVD's just fine then the LA is ok. So it may just be that the CD side of the laser is going weak. Try adjusting it before you do anything else. The Romeo mod will not stop a laser from wearing out under normal use, this will happen regardless. The Romeo mod will however protect your LA from toasting its self if something goes south like one of the coils on the laser shorting.
*EDIT*Typo maniac, sorry about that
