Soldner 33628 crack not working

I recently saw that a crack for the newest version of Soldner was released on GCW. So I installed off my original disk, patched it, and then replaced the files with the ones in the crack (putting them in game\bin).

The game starts up fine and goes through all the intro videos, but then crashes out everytime it loads the menu. I have tried with and without the CD in the drive. I wasn't sure if I needed the CD, but either way it doesn't work. Do I need to have their expansion that they released for this to work? I don't recall reading that in the patch notes. Can someone help me?
