Black screens are common of solder splashes on the motherboard - but the biggest cause is the bridging of the pins on the BIOS chip. On your mod, check the pins aren't bridged on wires P,O,N,M,Q,T,U,V and R.
Hope this helps my friend, good luck - and keep us informed

yupe check over your install very carefully. doesnt take much to get an error like this and like lufcfan said the problem is normally something being bridged or grounding out when it shouldn't be. Look for pinched wires as well as make sure the wires are going to the right place. Also you might try disabling the duo2se to see if you can even get the PS2 to boot up at all. Good luck, keep us posted.

Try each wire solder carefully, make sure you hold it up right.
