Well the numbers corresponds to the number of options on the trainer

+6 has 6 options

+2 has 2

and so on

Unless you mean the version number which corresponds to the version of the game.

Its to train you to become better at a game.

Although some will abuse it and use it from start to finish and think they are cool :P
