Republic Commando not working
I installed republic commando and have tried every no-cd patch I can find. But none of them work. I load the launcher, click to play, it comes up with the republic commando screen; then it begins in full screen, just black. Then it crashes and gives me some error report. I have tried this with both pcgame's no-cd patch and vengeance's. My drivers are all up to date and I have the latest directx, I don't understand what is going on with this. Somebody please help me.

Is the game working, when you use your original cds without a crack?

(copied and pasted from a german site) After Double-Clicking on the Star Wars Republic Commando-Icon and clicking on "Start Game" the game crashes and the desktop comes up. It seems the videos from nvidia and lucasarts were the problems. So you should do following things: 1. Go to Directory "installDir/GameData/movies/" 2. Copy the files "LECIntro.avi" and "NVIDIAIntro.avi" to another Backup-Directory 3. Delete the both files from the directory "installDir/GameData/movies/" 4. Try to start the game 5. Perhaps this will be fix the problems at startup |

Looks more like a codec problem if the AVI files are not playing than a crack problem!
Try one of the codec packages here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...cdownload.aspx |

Hi guys,
If you're having problems with codecs, grab GSpot from http://www.headbands.com/gspot . It can tell you A) what codec a given movie is using, B) what codecs are installed on your system, C) if there are any problems with the codecs installed and D) it tries to play the movie and tell you if something went wrong. Nice software! Joe

about..
about the 100% loading screen error. im thinking that it has something to do with the video/audio codecs. somehow i managed to get the game working before i had to reformat my drive. after reformating my drive, i had to reinstall it.
problems i encountered: after installing, i used the patches found here on copyworld.com and applied to it. i started up everything and the screen crashes telling me that the program has crashed and gives me that "send error report" i fixed that problem by uninstall Nimo 8.0 Codec from my system and keeping only Xvid and DivX. i started it up again and it worked. now the next problem i havent been able to fix just like everyone else here is the 100% loading error at "The Beginning" loading. for me the system freezes and my computer sound systems go blank. before Sp2 was installed, it stated that there was a error with a Device that made the freeze. but i havent figured out what the device is either. i have a Radeon card that does support pixel shading so its not that problem. but its a device problem for me. im still trying to find out. |

Hey guys!
I'm new here but came across the forums because I've been looking for a solution to my problem. I cannot run SW:RC. I've tried all 4 cracks/fixed exe's in all sorts of combonations. Each time I get the splash screen followed by "swrcommando.exe has encountered a problem and must be shut down" type message. What's going on here? Any suggestions? Also, could I have backed up my game with the wrong program? I used CD Mate to back the game up, should I have tried something else? let me know, thanks! |
