LotR: RotK EE Problems

Well I've got Lord of the rings: Return of the King extended edition and want to back up all 4 dvds.

I Copied the 2 appendix disks and burned them just fine no problems. However I'm having a hell of a time with the two "Movie" disks.

I've tried using DVDXCopy, Clone DVD + AnyDVD, and DVD Shrink.

The same thing seems to happen with each. Everything will go smoothly, it will ask for a blank dvd, I stick it in, and a few seconds later it errors out.

I havn't had any problems with any of the other movies I've backed up recently.

Any ideas? I don't remember the "error code" if there was one. I guess if I have to find out I can. It'll be another 2 hours though ....

Anyways, any help appreciated.

I used to have the same problem sometimes when using anyDVD and CloneDVD that everything worked fine for the read but it would sometimes have an error just after starting the writing. So now what I do is choose cancel after the reading then I use Nero to write the DVD. I has never given me an error since. Maybe you should try it this way as a test with the movie you are having errors with.
NOTE: Be sure not to have the option ticked for deleting files after successful read/write in CloneDVD otherwise when you cancel it will delete the files.

Why dont you try using the Folders Option in CloneDVD. It seems that you can shrink the movie fine but have problems burning. If you use the folder option then you can use another program like RecordNow DX to burn your files under Data Mode.
