Jack the Ripper - Tips?

Ok I dont play pc games much but Ive owned this for almost a year now and just decided to open it and give it a shot. Well it seems I have just gotten to the part where Im supposed to give the Calling Card to the singers boss. Thing is I cant seem to get in contact with the guy. Ive have even resorted to reading a couple of walkthroughs and each doesnt seem to have any problems with just ringing the bell and him opening the door.



Anyone have any help for me on this one? Otherwise I may just have to start over. Im not too far off in the game anyways.

I had a similar problem with Simon the Sorcerer... stuck at a location (the honey bees) and all the walkthroughs were telling me to get it but I couldn't .. it's about things happening by themselves when you did something earlier..

Try following the walkthrough to the letter when restarting the game.

Sometimes walkthrough writers miss important details and just assume things.. and sometimes it's just a nasty bug..

Yeah I think its a bug, because Ive read 2 different walkthroughs and they both say that this game is riddled with bugs. They also say to keep multiple gamesaves that way you can go back earlier and earlier just in case. Unfortunately I only kept one and have to start completely over.

I guess this is why I dont like pc games.
