Matrix Infinity different versions?

A modchip-installer told me Matrix Infinity have different versions with different coulored stickers on top of the Actel, and that just the ones with turquoise stickers are working in the PSTwo. Is that true? On the Matrix site I only saw pictures of chips with orange stickers, so maybe he is wrong? Is every Infinty working in the PSTwo? I am planning to mod my V3, but as I am not sure if the laser lasts long (does read DVD+R, but sometimes has problems with straight boot of originals) I would like to get a chip that works for the PSTwo as well, so I can get one when my V3 dies. And do you think someone without soldering experiences could install the chip in the V3 (probably not after the first coffee in the morning), saw very good guides and pictures, but the spots look so damn small. No chance?

No. Your installer is 100% correct. The Blue dot Infinities come pre-flashed with the 1.36 Fw - thereby supporting the V12s straight after install rather than upgrading once installed.

Well, different versions is a bit of a broad statement. It da same chip but just flashed wiv a different firmware.

spose that does make it a different chip really!!

AHA, thanks for the info! I just found Thread http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=65378 (sorry Lufcfan, you already mentioned the blue spots there) where Terry has the same problem. So do you think I could put the upgrade for my orange spot Infinity (do all versions before 1.36 have orange spots?) on a memcard on my old unmodded V3 using SM2.0 discs? Sorry to bring up this topic again, but I am offered a used Infinity and am not sure which version it is. Just want to make clear I can update it.
