Backup help needed

My precious copy of halo (which i could beat you all in) was recently stepped on so, since it is halo (the best game on the face of the planet) i went out to buy another one (used much cheaper), but i don't want to risk anymore damage to my games (mechassault doesn't work very good either problem loading or something) so i wanted to make backups for them, i use clonecd for backing up pc games, and wonder if i can use that, I know nothing of backing up xbox games and don't even know if you use dvd or dv-r I don't know if you need to mod your xbox or if i even want to do that (risk of damage or loosing xbox live) I also need to know wat software to use and if my burner needs to be dao compatable. I'm in despret need for help would anybody please provide the information i need???
