Slight Problem.

Hey all,

well Im trying to fix a ps2 i have, atm the reset button wont work, and its not giving out a picture.

Well I am trying to take the big metal plate thats over the motherboard off, but one of the screws is really tight and the screw driver(s) are just slipping.

Any ideas?

Its a v5/v6 and its one of the small screws that hold the metal plate onto the motherboard (plastic sheet on top)

OK so its one of the screws that hold the ground plate to the motherboard, right under the PSU's plastic sheild.

Well did you strip it out?

If so try a small pair of needle nose pliers. If that doesn't work buy yourself a new X-acto (stanly as I beleave you call them in the UK) knife and a 5 blade or more replacement pack, and carefully shave away at the head of the screw.

Dont attempt to drill it out! I have seen pictures of a guy that tried this and drilled right through the plate as well as the mobo rendering his PS2 usless.

Good luck!

yea good point, drilling is definitely NOT recommended. I would shave away at the screw, one less screw wont hurt, plus you can always destroy that one and replace it with a new one.
