Aliens v's Predator 2

Hi all, I'm a total noob to the scene and having recently had a wireless network installed I'd like to play Aliens v's Predator 2 on the LAN.... I've done a little bit of research into how to do this and it appears I need to have a backup of disc 1 to play it on LAN. I bought the originals so it's legal to back up disc 1 and use that in one of my pc's with the original being used in the other isn't it?

I've already backed disc 1 onto the HD and scanned it to find out what protection it has (which IIRC is SecureROM2) but this is where I come unstuck.... I have Nero 6 burning ROM software to burn the backup onto CD-R but I assume I need to remove the protection first? If this is the case what do I have to use in order to do this, or is there a far simpler solution I've overlooked?

Thanks in advance

I dont think what you are asking is entirely legal! Even though you are allowed to backup your original discs you can still only install it onto one machine at a time! The EULA says something about this. You really need 2 purchased copies of the same game! sorry.

Ah.....I see!

I was hopeing that because I'd already bought the original I could back it up and as long as it was used by myself and not passed on/sold to anyone it might be ok....but if that's the case then that's the case...

Worth asking about though.... Thanks!

Apart from what you might have been suggesting, you can still backup the CDs for your own personal use using Alcohol 120% (_http://www.alcohol-soft.com) and simply selecting the copy protection from the list given within the program
