y0,
Right go to google and type in 'Playstation Place' follow the site to find out what version PS2 you have. If you ps2 is a v4 I would personally sell it on eBay or local paper, and buy another ps2 and try and get a v7 (i have one for sale ) as this is the best version. Then get a 'Matrix Infinity' modchip, as this is the best one ![]() For xbox, you need to do some research, find out version etc. If i bought the infinity, I would get the Aldain modchip for free.

I have a v4 ps2 that I would like to mod. What makes it so inferior to the v7?
Is modding a v4 a waste of time and money? |

well, a few reasons.. The main one is because the laser is infeior to the rest of the ps2 consoles (versions), and the v7 has the best laser.. Despite other things...

The lasers on v4's suck badly. Also their eject trays start acting up as well.
BTW @H|LLJD00 I take it youll keep this name. PS2_MaD is banned. Tyler!

Thanks for the info. My tray did start making an unusual noise about a year ago. I just chalked it up to age and use.
