UnSecuredisk Errors

Hi all,

There are two games I desire to crack, Risk 2 and Civilization 3. Now, both have Securedisk protection and when I used Unsecuredisk it didn't work. To begin with the analyzer that comes with the program tells me my Risk game is V1.41. When I attempt to use the v1.xx.xxx dumper it tells me that it "Cannot Load Dplayerx.dll". Thought I might have selected the wrong edition so tried the other dumpers and get the "Random Error :-)" message.

Is there anyone out there who worked their way through the same problem?

All help appreciated.
Jim

For the first one: You must have dplayerx.dll, riskii.icd and riskii.exe in the same directory (grab a copy to some temp dir on hd). Second, use Safedisc cleaner to remove the cp (if not higher than 2.60.xx).

Hi BM, thanks for the prompt reply and suggestions.

Couple of things, first off the Risk 2 file that installed the game didn't install dplayerx.dll onto the directory, thought I might need to extract the .exe file to get to it - but apparantly not. So would it work if I imported that file from somewhere else and if so, where from?

With regards to Civilization, I used safecleaner v2 but it seems it isn't a v2 protected file. Will have a look for an earlier version and see if that works.

Thanks for you help.

For Risk II, check your CD, there's the file. Copy it as well as riskii.exe and riskii.icd

Regarding Civ3, my version(original cd version) is 2.40.010 so you should be able to unwrap it, just look for civilization3.exe

No good, I don't have the original CD for either of them. They were given to me by someone else, a guy with a parrot on his shoulder, a patch over his eye and had a strange looking hook for a hand and he went "aarrr, arrr" a lot....
