Hacked Dvd-rom Firmware?

I was talking in an xbox chatroom

And I mentioned how I wished somebody had made hacked firmware for PC DVD drives to read xbox disks, since basically they just trick a pc drive into thinking it has reached the end of the disk when it really has not.

And some of them mentioned that such a thing does exsist for a few drives, but they woudlent tell me where to get them or give me any information. They just told me to google them.

Do they really exsist? And if so, where can I find more information about them?

Well I think they were talking about the Samsung pc drives. You basically flash them with xbox firmware and install them in your xbox. I dont think you can put them in your PC after theyve been flashed.

There are, but chances are, not one for your drive. Some release/warez groups hacked their PC dvd-rom firmware to read xbox games rather than ftping from the xbox for every game they want to copy. Since they, and only they have it, googling will probably leave you at a dead end. They are probably not going to give them away anytime soon, and would have been more popular if they did already.

Just use your xbox, it would save you alot of time.
