what dvd rom can i use

i've decided to mod my xbox, but there's only one problem.

what dvd rom can i put in so that he plays the dvd-r's?

and where can i find it?

sells all the drives available for the box..
with firmwares that works on all models..

the best one is the samsumg one..!

just so you know Casual28, all xbox dvd-roms can read dvd-r, so a replacement isn't a must have. Some dvd-roms however read media better. A modchip is a must have though.

Except for maybe those very new Tompsons that are being claimed to have a hard time reading any R media (including DVD-R).

yah, i have one of those crappy piss drives. I'd say they are the only ones in need of a drive replacement. arrghhh, thank god for my hdd.

Would you happen to know the model number of the "new" Tompson drive ? Reason I ask is that I think I may have one, as it struggles reading a mix of (decent) DVD-R I'm using
