Big Papa, Got a challenging burning question for ya! (others feel free to try!)

Ok, here' sthe deal: I was copying dc games with DJ, which all work great. However, I ran out of empty discs when I wanted to copy Tokyo Highway battle 2. So I copied the contents of the entire cd to my HD, thinking I would just be able to copy those files to a cd later...

Now my question is: is it possible to make a working copy of these files from my HD? The game is a self-boot. I tried the burn it with DJ2 and DJ3, but those copies didn't work. If it's possible: which program/settings do I have to use? Do I have to convert all files to a *.bin/*.cdi format first? Ie: how do I make a working backup from these files on my HD?

Thanks!!

I don't think that you will ever be able to copy those back to a CD if you just copied the files to your hard disk. If it was non-bootable then that should be no problem. Or if you had ripped it off into an iso it may have worked. But the problem with just copying the files to your HD is that you loose the oder that the files were in and most importantly the blank spaces that are left in the CD for copy protection. If your DC doesn't read these blank CDs, then it's not going to play the game. This is just my opinion however. I'm assuming that when you put the cd in, it just comes up to the dreamcast logo and sits there. Is this the case? Also have you tried using a boot disk first (long shot but hey!).
