Tron 2.0 - 1.042 No-cd?

I know it was asked before, but that topic derailed.

The 1.042 patch for Tron 2.0 added Derez and Team Derez modes, as such, it's quite a substantial update, and I was hoping to find a no-cd or fixed .exe for it.

Despite the patch being out for awhile, nobody's yet cracked it. So, I'm asking if anyone can...

Please, don't bash the game or each other this time. Let's keep this thread on track, please?

Nate, a working crack is already available. The one for v1.03 works fine on my system (v1.042i installed). I doubt if tron.exe and lithtech.exe were changed with the 1.042i patch.

Go to GameCopyWorld.com and find Tron 2.0. You want the file that Drunk made for the v1.03 Tron 2.0 patch (drn-tron13.rar). Replace the TRON.EXE and LITHTECH.EXE files in your Tron 2.0 main directory using the files from the archive.

Sorry, was out of town for a few.

And you're mistaken, unfortunatly. The file tron.exe was unchanged after the 1.042i patch, however, lithtech.exe WAS.

So...my question is...which is the unwrapper and which is the .exe? I have a feeling lithtech.exe is the actual executable...which means using the 1.03 crack is downgrading it. It may still work properly, but it can't be running as a 'proper' 1.042.

So...let me bump and try again...can anyone make a proper no-cd for Tron 2.0, v1.042?

Got it!!!

tron.exe was NOT altered in the 1.042 patch...lithtech.exe was!

But...it appears you don't need to crack lithtech.exe!

So....the crack for 1.03 will work, just do NOT use the cracked lithtech.exe from the archive, ONLY use the cracked tron.exe!

I have tested this on my system and it works!

So...again...
The no-cd crack for 1.042 can be obtained simply by using the file tron.exe from the 1.03 crack!
