recordnow max speed

I put burn at max, and when I hit the record button, it said it was burning at 1x speed. Why does it say this?

its possible your burner will only allow 1x burning.. more info would help.

Some burners require a update to handle 4x media. What burner do you have??

Are you sure that the media can handle 4X burning speed?
Not all dvds are capable of being burned at 4X.
