DRE ps2 units and Lasers

Im thinking of buying a DRE unit off ebay and replaceing the laser and just wondering how hard it is to do to put a new laser in and is there other things that can cause a DRE besides the laser ?

ShadowKnyght is an unknown quantity at this point
lasers are reasonably easy to remove - replacing them depends on what tools you have at hand - i.e. if you are not replacing the entire unit and just the lens sled instead...

careful though most replacement lasers are used and some don't even work. Be sure of the person you are buying from before handing over money!
