macrovision problems

i have purchased a panasonic dvd-r recorder (emr50) i have a lot of vhs videos i wanted to put onto disc and some dvd movies aswell. every time i try to back either one up it says can not copy this source i was told to get provision 2 video dvd(lik sang .com)i got it the other day and it will still not copy dvd to dvd-r recorder or vhs to dvd-r recorder i am now trying to purchase a dvd player with macrovision disabled but i still can't sort out the vhs side of things or is there another way to sort it out (i am glad of all help)
