epsxe question????

my psx took a dump on me a while back but i still have all of my games. i still would like to play my games on my pc until i get a new console. i got all of the games to boot up fine but my controller is not working. i have plugins but for the life of me cant get any response from my controller. it is a gemini axis pad gge900.
the controller works great for my pc games. i am using epsxe (newest version) have i missed something? or is there a better emulator that would work for me? thanks in advance for any help.

well my nephew came over and the kids were playing. not sure which one but somehow gave it a stress test. (smacked it) now it gets no power and then one of my friends kids had their laser go out so since ours was down, i put the good laser in theirs. they are good kids so i didnt mind helping them out. i figured ours was shot anyway so why not use it to help another.

I gave up on PC gamepads long ago when I found a hack that hooked 2 SNES controllers to the Parallel port for ZSNES and a wonderful driver called Directpad Pro that can also run PSX controllers. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could find the diagrams and wire the PSX port to a 25 pin connector like I have done with my computer or you can find USB adaptor that does the same thing for under $10. You'll never touch a PC Pad again, I guarantee it!

You will still have to enter the controller plugin and set each button. I think they should have an auto setting for real PSX pads. ePSXe is awesom but requires a lot of tweaking with plugins and settings, and I can't seem to get the game speed just right. Same as any other PC game I guess, pain in the @$$ to set up!

i'll definity look in to those options. thanks
i am still trying to get this one to work. the games all work fine, originals and the backups boot up ok. maybe i did something wrong with the setup. gonna start all over fresh one last time and then maybe i'll go with your recommendations.

I don't like epsxe. I use Virtual Game Station ( VGS ) . It was such a good emulator I heard Sony bought up the rights to it and discontinued it. But it can still be found.

Although if your using a windows XP machine you need another little program to help boot it up. Kind of a pain but it works.

check out this page www.aldostools.com

oh I also us a PSX to PC/USB adaptor like mentioned above. Just like playing the real thing with one of these.

i think that site may be useful. gonna redo it from scratch and use those plugins and see if i can get it goin'. ty spedmetal.
you mentioned (vgs) thats a tough one to find these days. i heard most of the vgs dl's are corupted and dont work for some games.
not sure how true that is though. i simply left it alone due to the warning.

hmmm, I have never had any problems using it with any of my PSX games. In fact I have had more problems with epsxe but it might be just my luck and I never really gave it much of a try.

you can download it here i beleave.
